Food automation

Automate complex food operations
?

We assess the feasibility of your automation question. Receive a customized feasibility plan within 2 weeks.

We test your food automation issue for feasibility, make all risks transparent and ensure that you are not surprised by unnecessary and unforeseen costs. A carefree kickstart for your automation project. Then we help with the integration and you can expect full support to use the technology in the right way.

With this setup, we make it possible to manipulate or move a product - regardless of changes in the product or environment. We combine the handling flexibility of the robot and the thinking ability of deep learning. This opens the door to automating a range of tasks currently performed only by humans.

Do you have an automation issue? Schedule a no-obligation online appointment and we'll brainstorm about it.

Human actions are not sustainable

Due to the growing world population, the demand for food is increasing, but due to rising labor shortages, capacity in the industry is decreasing. This, of course, is not a sustainable situation. The need to automate is growing. The food industry is crying out for innovation.

Automation brings risks

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Automation provides continuity, peace of mind and growth

The ultimate goal of a food manufacturer is to maintain continuity in production processes. Automation creates continuity, or in other words: peace of mind and opportunities for growth. What does continuity provide?

  • Higher and consistent product quality
  • Maintain desired production productivity
  • Ensuring growth potential
  • Meeting hygiene guidelines
  • Less food waste

Imagine...

...that you invest in an automation of which the feasibility and all possible risks are clear in advance. Large investments in prototypes that do not work optimally are a thing of the past.

Kickstart your Food Automation process

Would you like to automate your production process - or part of it? But do you doubt the feasibility? Logical.

We get to work on your Food Automation issue and test its feasibility. We do this in our Development Lab with a robot and the latest technologies. With this we offer automation solutions for issues with high technical complexity. Such as packing products, accurately sorting food products, stacking packages and performing quality checks. Kickstart your automation process with as little worry and risk as possible.

This is how we tackle your food automation issue

In our Development Lab, our QINGs, among others, have a food-grade robotic arm and use the latest technologies. Artificial Intelligence (AI), or artificial intelligence offers new possibilities; it enables complex operations for automations in food. This works according to the See, Think, Act principle.

See, think, act principle can be compared to human actions, that's how it works:

See

The human is watching and observing. The system does this by means of a camera. There are several techniques for this: 2D vision, 3D vision or a line scanner.

1
Think

Human beings can understand situations and make connections by thinking. What is unique about this setup is that we can apply thinking skills. The robot can understand complex products or situations, then automatically determine an action. Actions can include quality control, sorting and recognizing product characteristics. For this, we use deep learning.

2
Act

After making a choice, the human performs an action. It is the same with the robot: after seeing and determining the action, the action is performed. The robot possesses a self-learning system; by doing, the robot collects data and the system gets smarter and smarter.

Joining forces

‍‍Froma shared vision, we are tackling today's challenges with Stäubli and Robovision; making automation in the food industry possible and easier. We add Stäubli's expertise in robotics and hygiene and Robovision's scalable AI software to the approach. QING helps determine whether these technologies are suitable and how best to apply them. Then we help with the integration and you can expect full support to use the technology the right way.

Automated sorting process of peaches

Meat packaging and box stacking are already often automated in the meat industry. With this setup, we are also testing the feasibility of automating operations of meat. These can be operations such as: cutting and trimming meat or boning a carcass.

Automation in the bakery industry

In the bakery industry you often deal with soft and fragile products. For this we have a soft gripper that does not damage the products during the sorting process.

With this technology, we also perform quality checks. The system can recognize physical deviations in a product and take it out of production.

Automation in the AGF sector

Fruits and vegetables are organic and fragile products. They come in different sizes, shapes or there are physical defects, such as rotten spots. Physical characteristics can be recognized during the sorting process and sorted appropriately.

The technology also makes it possible to plant and harvest fruits and vegetables automatically.
