Extractacore and QING Food Automation are taking the next step in automating the initial processing of fresh produce. A new upgrade package combines the STAQ® Technology Package with a fully integrated Stäubli Hygienic Design 6-axis robot, delivering enhanced hygiene, reliability, and operational control to Extractacore's automated decoring systems.
Extractacore has developed an innovative solution for automatically removing cores from fresh produce, including iceberg lettuce. Its systems already use the STAQ® (See Think Act®) Technology Package to accurately identify products and locate their cores. The cores are then removed efficiently and accurately using Extractacore’s proprietary gripping technology.
The latest upgrade introduces full integration with a Stäubli Hygienic Design 6-axis robot, specifically engineered for environments where hygiene, cleanability, and reliability are essential.
With its hygienic design and food-grade washdown capability, this robot is particularly well-suited for primary food processing applications. This enables the next generation of Extractacore systems to be even better equipped to meet the strict hygiene requirements of modern food-processing companies.
Beyond robot integration, further standardization around STAQ® opens up additional opportunities. By bringing vision, AI, robotics, and control together on a single integrated platform, the upgraded systems offer:
The collaboration between Extractacore, QING Food Automation, and Stäubli combines specialized expertise with advanced AI, vision, and robotics integration. The result is a new generation of decoring systems, designed for reliable industrial performance and international scalability.
