I joined QING in early 2022 as a mechanical engineer and have been working there for almost a year now. Looking back on the past year, I have learned a lot thanks to the great opportunities QING has provided me. They know how to match the right projects with the right engineers, resulting in a good balance between working within your expertise, with a healthy dose of stepping outside your comfort zone.
The cool thing is that at QING you really get the chance to work on a product from start to finish, from idea to execution. Like co-designing a Vision-AI platform. This started as a showcase project for trade shows and now it has grown into a full-fledged software platform. This platform serves as the basis for all automatic quality control solutions within QING. During the development of the platform, my experience comes in handy and I like to share it with my colleagues.
Early this year, the first projects based on this platform were released. I am currently collaborating on a machine with Vision-AI in combination with a Stäubli robot for quality control of peaches. The goal of this project is to check peaches for residual seeds and pit fragments. If these are recognized, they are sorted out of the process by a robot that picks them up from a running conveyor belt.

There are several reasons why I chose QING, such as the opportunity to work with challenging and new technologies. Here you work in an environment where innovation is strongly encouraged, allowing you to continuously develop yourself. The diversity you get to deal with makes my job interesting.
In my previous job, we worked on many projects of the same type. It was mainly about household products that needed to be connected to the Internet and given an app. Joining QING allowed me to challenge myself by taking on all kinds of new things. In my case, this could range from PLC development, system architecture, hardware selection, electrical schematic reviews and, of course, software development.
One of the projects I had the opportunity to work on is the project for Axxor. In this I was able to do all the work that gives me energy. A problem was experienced in the production process. The first phase was to investigate the cause. Based on my findings, a plan of action was drawn up together with Axxor to solve the problem. Then we started engineering the project. After a phase of engineering and collaboration, we successfully implemented the modifications.
